Late-Míng Chán monk, personal attendant (shìzhě 侍者) of Hānshān Déqīng 德清 from 1587 onward. Lay surname Hú 胡. His father, zhōngchéng Húgōng 胡中丞, had retired from office; his qīn-zi 親之子 (adopted / nephew) was sent to become Déqīng’s attendant and given the dharma-name Fúshàn. He is the original rìlù 日錄-keeper — shìzhě who recorded Déqīng’s daily teaching — whose records were subsequently edited into the Hānshān lǎorén mèngyóu jí (KR6q0386) by Tōngjiōng 通炯. Also compiler of the Hānshān dàshī niánpǔ shūzhù 憨山大師年譜疏註 (B0085 in the Jiāxīng Canon).
