Late Southern-Sòng Daoist priest, disciple of the thirty-eighth Máoshān patriarch Jiǎng Zōngyīng (d. 1281). He is known solely from his signed imprint-colophon (kānjì 刊記) dated 1272 appended to Shàngqīng dàdòng zhēnjīng 上清大洞真經 (DZ 6), the Jiǎng Zōngyīng edition of the central Shàngqīng 上清 scripture. In the colophon Chéng records that the scripture had been “transmitted at the principal sanctuary of the Shàngqīng tradition on Máoshān for more than one thousand years” and that he is now engraving blocks for its general circulation. No CBDB record exists, and his wider biography is not recoverable from the Dàozàng.
