Chéng Ménxuě 程門雪 (1902–1972), zì Jiǔrú 九如, hào Húgōng 壺公, was one of the major Shanghai Shānghán-school physicians of the Republican and early-PRC period and the founding President of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (上海中醫學院, founded 1956, where he served until his death). Native of Wǔyuán 婺源 (Jiāngxī, then under Ānhuī administration), Chéng trained in classical Chinese medicine in Shanghai under Wāng Liánshí 汪蓮石 and was a leading figure in the Shanghai-school Shānghán tradition. He combined a rigorous classical Shānghán practice with extensive engagement with the wēnbìng literature and was widely regarded as one of the most learned physicians of his generation. His works include the Shānghán biàn yào jiān jì 傷寒辨要箋記 (KR3ef058) and many case-records and clinical essays, mostly collected posthumously. Died in Shanghai in 1972, aged 70.
