筆煉閣主人 Bǐliàn Gé Zhǔrén — “The Master of the Writing-Forge Pavilion” — is the pseudonymous author of KR4k0248 Wǔ Sè Shí 五色石 (Stones of Five Colors), an eight-story vernacular short story collection, and of the companion collection Bā Dòng Tiān 八洞天 (Eight Grotto Heavens). Wilkinson’s Chinese History: A New Manual cites him as “Wǔsèshí zhǔrén 五色石主任 [jǔrén 舉人 1738],” giving an approximate floruit date: he held the provincial jǔrén degree and was composing in the early eighteenth century. One scholarly suggestion identifies him as Xú Shùkuí 徐述夔 (a Qing official and literary figure), but this attribution has not been conclusively established and is not adopted here. No other biographical information has been confirmed. No CBDB entry identified.
