Shōzen 聖詮 — Medieval Japanese Kegon 華嚴 (Avataṃsaka) monk, identifiable only as the author of Huā-yán wǔ-jiào zhāng shēn-yì chāo 華嚴五教章深意鈔 (KR6t0037, T73n2341), a ten-fascicle sub-commentary on Fa-zang’s Wǔ jiào zhāng focused on the philosophically substantive (“deep-meaning”) doctrinal positions. Doctrinal style and citational patterns place him in the post-Gyōnen Tōdaiji-Kegon tradition of the 14th–15th centuries.
