Hú Wénxué 胡文學 (active late Kāngxī, d. before 1730, zì Dàonán 道南), of Yínxiàn 鄞縣 (Níngbō prefecture, Zhèjiāng — “Yǒngshàng” 甬上 is the alternative literary toponym for Níngbō). Compiler of the Yǒngshàng qíjiù shī 甬上耆舊詩 KR4h0162 — the comprehensive Níngbō / Sìmíng (Four-Brightness) regional poetry anthology in 40 juǎn (only 30 juǎn printed at his death by his son Hú Démài 胡德邁). Hú worked closely with his friend Lǐ Yèsì 李鄴嗣 (hào Gǎotáng 杲堂), who provided the biographical xùzhuàn (preface-biographies) for each included poet — drawing on Lǐ’s earlier Yǒngshàng qíjiù zhuàn 甬上耆舊傳 (Níngbō regional biographies). The compilation covers 430 poets from Zhōu Wénzhǒng (5th c. BCE) down to the late Míng, totalling 3,000+ poems. Hú died before the project could be fully printed (only 30 of 40 juǎn engraved), and his son completed the publication. The CBDB record is thin (id 365473) with no lifedates — Hú’s career was largely confined to Níngbō and the work is his sole substantive transmitted product.
