Hú Yíng 胡濚 (1375–1463) — early-Míng official of Pílíng 毗陵 (Chángzhōu 常州, Jiāngsū). Jìnshì of Jiànwén 2 / 1400. Long career through Hóngwǔ to Tiānshùn reigns: famed for his decades-long undercover mission, ordered by the Yǒnglè emperor, to search the realm for the deposed Jiànwén emperor; later Lǐbù shàngshū 禮部尚書 (Minister of Rites) and tàizǐ bīnkè 太子賓客. Author of the Zhèngtǒng 8 / 1443 publication preface to 戴思恭’s Mìchuán zhèngzhì yàojué jí lèifāng (KR3er068). CBDB id 246855.
