Hú Bǐngwén 胡炳文, zì Zhònghǔ 仲虎, hào Yúnfēng 雲峯, was a Wùyuán 婺源 (Huīzhōu 徽州) scholar of the Yuán dynasty and a leading transmitter of the Zhū Xī 朱熹 school of Yìjīng learning in the early fourteenth century. The Xīn’ān wénxiàn zhì 新安文獻志 describes him as a devoted follower of Zhū Xī. He held minor instructional offices, serving as instructor (教諭) at the Xìnzhōu 信州 prefectural school and later as director (山長) of the Mǐng’ān 明經 academy. His most influential work is the Zhōuyì běnyì tōngshì 周易本義通釋 (KR1a0078), in which he distilled an earlier and more diffuse compilation, the Jīngyì 精義, into a focused gloss on Zhū Xī’s Zhōuyì běnyì 周易本義. He also produced the Sìshū tōng 四書通, a parallel synthesis on the Four Books in the Zhū Xī tradition, and miscellaneous prose collected as the Yúnfēng wénjí 雲峯文集.
