Hú Zhèn 胡震 (lifedates not securely recorded; fl. 1305), self-styled Lúshān shēnxī 廬山深溪 (“Deep-Brook of Lúshān”). Held Jiāngshì zuǒláng 將仕佐郎 (a low wénjiēguān / civil rank); served as jiàoshòu 教授 (Educational Officer) of Nánkānglù 南康路 (modern Lúshān region, Jiāngxī) Confucian School and retired from this post. CBDB has multiple Hú Zhèn entries; the Yuán-period author of KR1a0075 is most plausibly id 43141 (placed as Yuán dynasty 18, no dates).

Pedagogical lineage: studied under Hé Zǐjǔ 何子舉 (Guózhèng 國正), Liú Jūntáng 劉均堂 (Biānxiū 編修), and Ráo Lǔ 饒魯 (Shuāngfēng xiānshēng 雙峰先生, the noted Yuán-period Dàoxué scholar). Father of 胡光大 (Hú Guāngdà), who completed his Zhōuyì yǎn yì posthumously c. 1315.

Within the Kanripo corpus he is the principal author of KR1a0075 Zhōuyì yǎn yì 周易衍義 (16 juan; auto-preface 1305 Dàdé yǐsì). The work was completed posthumously by his son Hú Guāngdà ten years after his death (c. 1315).

Methodologically a Chéng-Zhū-orthodox-with-historical-cases synthesizer — continuing the Lǐ Guāng → Yáng Wànlǐ (KR1a0040) historical-cases tradition within the Yuán-period Zhū-school doctrinal framework.

Hú Zhèn 胡震 (fl. late Guāngxù era, ca. 1890s) is a different person, a late-Qīng literatus of YáoběiYíngqiáo 姚北瀛嶠 (Yúyáo 余姚 county, Zhèjiāng). Nephew-in-law of 羅越峰 (Luó Yuèfēng — the younger brother of Hú’s wàijiù / father-in-law Luó Yànxiānggōng). Wrote the preface (dated early summer 1895, Guāngxù 21 chūxià) to Luó’s Yínán jízhèng jiǎnfāng 疑難急症簡方 (KR3ed122). The preface implies Hú had at least informal acquaintance with the medical literature; he describes his visit to Luó’s home in Shàoxīng prefecture and his reading of the manuscript. No further biographical record. Not the same as the more famous late-Qīng seal-carver Hú Zhèn 胡震 (1817–1862, Bùān 不安, of Hénán).
