Yè Lónglǐ 葉隆禮, hào Yúlín 漁林, mid-thirteenth-century Southern-Sòng official from Jiāxīng 嘉興 (modern Zhèjiāng). Jìnshì of Chúnyòu 淳祐 7 (1247); appointed Tōngpàn 通判 of Jiànkāngfǔ 建康府, then promoted Mìshū chéng 秘書丞. Under Sòng Xiàozōng 孝宗 he was commanded to compile a record of the affairs of the rulers and ministers of the Liáo 遼 dynasty (which had fallen to the Jurchen in 1125, more than a century before); this became the Qìdān guózhì 契丹國志 (KR2d0009), presented to the throne in Chúnxī 淳熙 7 (1180). The Sìkù tíyào (and the Qiánlóng emperor’s prefatory edict) note that Yè was born after the southward retreat of 1127, that the Liáo dynastic histories had not survived in the south, and that he relied on Sòng-side sources — Sīmǎ Guāng’s Zīzhì tōngjiàn, Lǐ Tāo’s Xù tōngjiàn chángbiān, Hú Qiáo’s Xiànběi jì 陷北記 (via Ōuyáng Xiū’s Xīn Wǔdài shǐ), and Hóng Hào’s Sōngmò jìwén 松漠記聞 — without ever seeing a Liáo source. CBDB id 22702 (no dates). His other writings have not survived independently. Note: the Sìkù version is the Qīndìng zhòngdìng Qìdān guózhì 欽定重訂契丹國志, an imperially-supervised revision of Yè’s text that adjusts what the Qiánlóng emperor regarded as breaches of zhèngtǒng doctrine (notably Yè’s interlinear Sòng reign-titles below the Liáo annals and his evaluative use of Hú Ānguó 胡安國).
