Late-Southern-Sòng official and famine-relief specialist; native of Póyáng 鄱陽 (modern Jiāngxī). Zì Jìxìng 季興. Took the jìnshì in Shàoxī 5 (1194); served as magistrate of Ruì’ān 瑞安 (modern Wēnzhōu). His principal work is the Jiùhuāng huómín shū 救荒活民書 (KR2m0044), the seminal Chinese treatise on famine relief and the foundation of the genre—drawn upon by every later YuánMíngQīng compilation in the field.
