Cài Yuánfāng 蔡元放 was a Qīng editor and literary critic, active in the Qiánlóng-Jiāqìng period (roughly late 18th to early 19th century). He is known primarily for his revision of Féng Mènglóng’s 馮夢龍 Xīn Lièguó Zhì 新列國志 into the standard 108-chapter Dōngzhōu Lièguó Zhì 東周列國志 (KR4k0097), to which he also added editorial commentary (píng 評). His biographical details — native place, examination record, official career — have not been recovered from standard sources; he does not appear in CBDB. He is recorded in Wilkinson (Chinese History: A New Manual) as the reviser of the canonical Dōngzhōu Lièguó Zhì.
