Cài Rǔnán 蔡汝楠 (zì Zǐmù 子木, hào Báishí 白石; 1516–1565; Míng) was a Jiā-jìng-era scholar-official from Dégé 德格 in Sìchuān (some sources give Déqīng 德清 in Zhèjiāng). Jìnshì of 1538 (嘉靖十七年). His career was as a regional official, eventually rising to Yòu fùdūyùshǐ 右副都御史 and Nánjīng gōngbù shàngshū 南京工部尚書 in Wàngjí 1564. He was a member of the Yángmíng school of Wáng Shǒurén’s followers (he studied under Zōu Shǒuyì 鄒守益 and Ōuyáng Dé 歐陽德), and contributed to mid-Míng xīnxué 心學 philosophy as well as to technical literature.
