Mid-Northern-Sòng Hànlín xuéshì, calligrapher, poet, and tea-master, zì Jūnmó 君謨, posthumous Zhōnghuì 忠惠, of Xīnghuàjūn Pútián 興化軍莆田 (Fújiàn). Jìnshì of Tiānshèng 8 / 1030 (jiǎkē, top class). One of the Sòng sì jiā 宋四家 (“Four Sòng Masters”) of calligraphy with Sū Shì, Huáng Tíngjiān, and Mǐ Fú. Author of the Chá lù 茶錄 KR3i0020 (1051, dedicated to Rénzōng — the foundational Sòng tea monograph) and the Lìzhī pǔ 荔枝譜 KR3i0038 (1059 — the first systematic Chinese lychee monograph). Famous for the Sì xián yī bù xiào shī 四賢一不肖詩 of Jǐngyòu 3 / 1036, defending Fàn Zhòngyān 范仲淹, Yú Jìng 余靖, Yǐn Zhū 尹洙, Ōuyáng Xiū against Gāo Ruònuò 高若訥 — a foundational document of Northern-Sòng qīngyì factional consciousness. Twice prefect of Quánzhōu, where he supervised the construction of the Wànān qiáo / Luòyáng qiáo (1053–1059), one of the longest Sòng beam-bridges. Late offices: Hànlín xuéshì zhī Kāifēngfǔ; Duānmíng diàn xuéshì zhī Hángzhōu (whence the title of the collection). Died Zhìpíng 4 / 1067 age 56. Posthumous Zhōnghuì in 1167.
