Late-Táng official-historian (shǐguān 史官) active in the Dàzhōng 大中 reign (847–860). CBDB id 184585 gives his death-date as 843 — but his preface to the Lǐ xiàngguó lùnshì jí (KR2g0005) is dated Dàzhōng 5 (851), tenth month, which is irreconcilable with a 843 death-date; the inconsistency may reflect either an error in the CBDB record or that the preface date is the deposit date in the Dōngguān 東觀 imperial archive, with Jiǎng’s own writing some years earlier. He was active in the historiographical apparatus of the Dàzhōng court under Xuānzōng 宣宗 and is best known for editing Lǐ Jiàng’s 李絳 memorials and remonstrances into the seven-piān Lǐ xiàngguó lùnshì jí on the basis of materials supplied by the Censor Xiàhóu 夏侯. The work is the principal Táng jiànlù of the Yuánhé reign and one of the foundational specimens of the Táng-period zhuànjì (more strictly jiànlù) genre.
