Xiāo Yánpíng 蕭延平 (1860–1924), Běichéng 北承, was a late-Qīng and Republican-era physician-philologist of Xiàogǎn 孝感 (Húběi). Earned the jǔrén in the Guāngxù era. After Yáng Shǒujìng 楊守敬 returned from Japan with a photographic transcript of the Ninnaji manuscript of the Huángdì nèijīng Tài sù in 23 juan, the text was hastily printed (without proper collation) by Yuán Chāng 袁昶 of Tónglú 桐廬. Xiāo Yánpíng, who married into Yáng Shǒujìng’s family circle, spent twenty years (c. 1904–1924) systematically collating the Tài sù against the Sòng校正 recension, the Sūn Sīmiǎo Qiānjīn fāng citations, the SòngYuán Tài sù fragments, and other witnesses. The resulting critical edition was printed by the Lánlíngtáng 蘭陵堂 of Wǔchāng in 1924, the year of his death, and has been the standard text of the Tài sù (KR3ea031) since.
