Lán Zhì 藍智 (c. 1320?–c. 1390?), Xìngzhī 性之 (so the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn; almost all later sources have 明之 Míngzhī, which the Sìkù editors regard as a later error), hào Lánjiàn 藍澗; younger brother of 藍仁 (Lán Rén). Native of Chóngān 崇安 (Fújiàn). With his elder brother constituted the Èr Lán 二藍, founding pair of the Mǐnzhōng shīpài 閩中詩派. As young man studied at Wǔyí under Dù Běn 杜本 and received the Rèn Sōngqīng 任松卿 Sìmíng Táng-revivalist shīfǎ. Appointed in Hóngwǔ 10 (1377) on recommendation as Guǎngxī ànchá sī qiānshì 廣西按察司僉事; served three years with a documented reputation for lián 廉 (incorruption); subsequently returned home and retired. His record is appended in Míng shǐ Wényuàn zhuàn to Táo Zōngyí 陶宗儀’s biography. The collection KR4e0037 Lánjiàn jí 藍澗集 was lost by mid-Míng and reconstructed from the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn by the Sìkù editors (over 300 poems recovered). His verse stands beside his elder brother’s as the two paragons (èr nán 二難) of the founding-generation Mǐnzhōng style. CBDB id 34384 records the name and Míng dynasty but no dates.
