Míng-dynasty Buddhist monk, abbot at Mt. Shǎoshì (少室山, the western peak of Mt. Sòng — i.e., Shàolínsì 少林寺), in the lineage that styled itself the Cáodòng zhèngzōng 曹洞正宗 (the orthodox Cáodòng line transmitted through the Shàolín seat). Alternate appellation Dàfāng Lián 大方連. Lifedates unrecorded; only known literary act is the 1551 (Jiājìng xīnhài 嘉靖辛亥) compilation of the annotated Xiāoshì Jīngāng jīng kēyí huìyào zhùjiě 銷釋金剛經科儀會要註解 (KR6c0055, X24 no. 467), undertaken at the request of the layman Xǔ Jìngyú 許敬愚 of Sūzhōu and conveyed by the Chán master Yíngān Dàodēng 螢菴道燈 (沙門 of the imperially-patronized 智化寺) on commission of Juélián’s master Dàníng 大寧. Juélián describes his own role as huì qǔ zhū jiā jiéyào zhī zhù, ān yú kēyí běnwén zhī xià 會取諸家捷要之註，安於科儀本文之下 — gathering the most pointed annotations of earlier hands and arranging them under the kēyí base text — explicitly disclaiming originality (非敢胸臆強為，祇是述成而巳).
