Yuán–Míng transitional poet and gǔwén essayist, zì Yuángōng 原功, native of Shàngyú 上虞 (Kuàijī 會稽, Zhèjiāng). Studied under Gòng Shītài 貢師泰 at the Yǎnggāo tíng 仰高亭 on Wúshān 吳山, accompanying him by ship to Hǎichāng 海昌 during Gòng’s grain-transport mission to Fújiàn and Guǎngdōng; later printed Gòng’s collected works. Close friend of Dài Liáng 戴良 (1317–1383), who wrote two prefaces for his Mì’ān gǎo / Mì’ān jí. At the end of Yuán Zhìzhèng he sought audience with Zhāng Shìchéng 張士誠 at Wú with a strategy of demobilization and rest for the people; rebuffed, he withdrew to Yuè. Under Hóngwǔ raised by the míngjīng 明經 examination and appointed Fújiàn ànchá sī qiānshì 福建按察司僉事; subsequently implicated in a case, imprisoned, and died in confinement (CBDB 28452, citing genealogical sources, gives age at death as 53). His travels through Shāndōng, Shānxī, and Hénán in the 1360s produced an extensive corpus of jìxíng 紀行 poetry. Author of KR4e0021 Mì’ān jí 密庵集.
