Xiè Cǎibó 謝采伯 (b. c. 1179; fl. 1202–1255; CBDB id 17102), zì Yuánruò 元若, hào Mìzhāi 密齋, was a late-Southern-Sòng official from Línhǎi 臨海 (Tāizhōu, Zhèjiāng). Son of Prime Minister Xiè Shēnfǔ 謝深甫 (1139–1204); uncle of Empress Xiè 謝皇后, consort of Lǐzōng. Jìnshì by the Fù Xíngjiǎn bǎng (the roll of Fù Xíngjiǎn) in Jiātài 2 (1202); served as zhī Guǎngdé jūn, zhī Húzhōu, jiān Liùbù mén, Dàlǐsì chéng, and Dàlǐsì zhèng. Sòng shǐ has no biography; his career-record survives only fragmentarily in Chén Qíqīng’s Chìchéng zhì. He retired before his niece Empress Xiè came to political prominence in early Duānpíng (1234) — and as the Sìkù editors note, by his retirement and detachment “Cǎibó stood apart from the gentry-favouritism, with not the slightest involvement in court politics.” His one surviving work is the Mìzhāi bǐ jì 密齋筆記 (KR3j0120) in 5 juàn + 1 juàn xù (sequel), composed at age 63 (according to his own preface) on his return from office, dated Chúnyòu 1 (1241). The book was first printed by his son Xiè Yìmào 謝奕楙 in Bǎoyòu 4 (1256) at Fǔzhōu.
