譚嗣同 Tán Sìtóng

Tán Sìtóng 譚嗣同 (1865–1898, of Liúyáng 瀏陽, Húnán), late-Qīng radical reformer; executed as one of the “Six Gentlemen” (戊戌六君子) of the failed 1898 Hundred Days’ Reform. Mentioned in 熊希齡 Xióng Xīlíng’s 1927 colophon to 譚志光 Tán Zhìguāng’s Zhēnjiǔ wèndá 針灸問答 (KR3ee035) as part of the 1890s Húnán Nánxuéhuì 南學會 reformist circle.
