Jiǎ Sōng 賈嵩 (signing himself Bìluó rúzǐ 薜蘿孺子, “Child of the Briar Vines”) is the compiler of the Huáyáng Táo yǐnjū nèizhuàn 華陽陶隱居內傳 (KR5a0312 / DZ 300), a three-juan biography of Táo Hóngjǐng 陶弘景 (456–536). The text was for long dated by Qīng-period scholars (e.g., Yè Déhuī’s 葉德輝 1903 edition in Guāngǔ táng huìkè shū 觀古堂彙刻書) to the Sòng dynasty; Ursula-Angelika Cedzich, in Schipper & Verellen eds., The Taoist Canon (2004) 2:428–429, argues with some plausibility that he is identical with the late-Táng prose writer of the same name whose Xián kěwèi fù 閒可畏賦 is preserved in Wényuàn yīnghuá 文苑英華 5.9a–10a. On that identification, he flourished in the late ninth or early tenth century. He is also the author of the prefatorial signature appended to the Huáyáng Táo yǐnjū nèizhuàn. Beyond these sparse data and the present biography, no further information is preserved. The CBDB returns several persons of this name; none can be confidently matched.
