Zézàng 賾藏 (Zézàngzhǔ 賾藏主, Sēngtǐng 僧挺)

Southern-Sòng LínjìYángqí Chán monk. Monastic name Sēngtǐng 僧挺; popular sobriquet Zézàngzhǔ 賾藏主 (“Zé the Library-Keeper”) — the distinctive designation arising from his position as zàng zhǔ 藏主 (library-keeper) at Fúzhōu Gǔshānsì 福州鼓山寺. Alternate name Yízàng 頤藏. Active during the Shàoxīng era (1131–1162); lifedates unrecorded.

Dharma-heir of Zhúān Shìguī 竹菴士珪. Principal surviving contribution: the compilation of the massive Gǔ zūn sù yǔlù 古尊宿語錄 KR6q0261 — the 48-juan Southern-Sòng comprehensive anthology of classical Chán yǔlù. The earlier Northern-Sòng Gǔ zūn sù yǔ yào 古尊宿語要 (20-master compact version) provided the kernel from which Zézàngzhǔ’s expanded Southern-Sòng recension grew.
