Chāozhí 超直, hào Wènshí 問石, LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Xūzhōu Xíngshěng 行省 虛舟行省 (1600–1668) at his Cíxī / Húzhōu seats. Lead compiler of the 4-juan 《虛舟省禪師語錄》 (KR6q0465), credited in the catalog meta as Chāozhí děng biān 超直等編. Per the second preface (Zhāng Wénjiā), Wènshí showed exceptional dedication to the Chán community (dāndāng fǎmén yǒu qíjié, yù jínán zhī shì zhé yì xíng yú sè 擔當法門有奇節遇急難之事輒義形於色) and fundraised ardently for the Léngyánsì 楞嚴寺 publication (nǎi jiélì mù zǐ, cáng bǎn yú Hézhōng zhī Léngyán 乃竭力募梓藏板於禾中之楞嚴) to ensure the master’s yǔlù circulation after his 1668 death.
