Zhào Shànyù 趙善譽 (1143–1189), Jìngzhī 靜之, hào Shùzhāi 恕齋. A member of the Sòng imperial clan (zōngshì 宗室). First place in the Lǐbù shì 禮部試 (Ministry-of-Rites examination) of Qiándào 5 (1169) under Xiàozōng. Held Dàlǐ chéng 大理丞 (Court of Judicial Review compiler), Tóngchuānlù tíxíng 潼川路提刑 (Surveillance Commissioner of the Tóngchuān circuit, eastern Sìchuān), and zhuǎnyùn pànguān 轉運判官 (Fiscal Vice-Commissioner). At the time of the 1186 Qín Yù 秦焴 reprint of his Yì shuō, he had transferred to a xiángxíng 祥刑 / criminal-justice oversight position in DōngShǔ 東蜀 (eastern Sìchuān).

Biography in Sòngshǐ; references in Chén Zhènsūn’s Shūlù jiětí. CBDB id 50966 records the imperial-clan affiliation and the death year (1189) without an explicit birth year. The catalog 1143 birth-year is a defensible inference from the 1169 Lǐbù shì first-place result (typical examination-success age 25–30) and is followed here.

Praised by Zhū Xī (“able to extend what earlier had not yet made clear”) and drawn on extensively by Féng Yǐ 馮椅’s Yìxué 易學 (KR1a0044).

Within the Kanripo corpus he is the author of KR1a0039 Zhàoshì Yì shuō 趙氏易說 (also titled Shùzhāi Yì shuō 恕齋易說 in the 1186 print) — a 4-juan reconstruction by the Sìkù editors from Yǒnglè dàdiǎn citations of an originally 2-juan work (Sòngshǐ Yìwénzhì) presented at court during his Tóngchuān fiscal-commissionership.
