Zhào Wánbì 趙完璧, zì Quánqīng 全卿, hào Yúnhè 雲壑 (later Hǎihè 海壑), of Jiāozhōu 膠州 (Shāndōng). Entered office via suìgòngshēng (provincial graduate by seniority); rose to Gǒngchāngfǔ tōngpàn. As a junior jǐnyīwèi (Imperial Guard) officer at Sīchéng in Jiājìng 33 (1554), he resisted Lù Bǐng 陸炳 (the Yán Sōng-ally Imperial Guard commander) and was imprisoned in the Běisī yù — barely saved by senior censors. His prison was contemporaneous with Yáng Jìshèng’s; the Hǎihè yíngǎo KR4e0205 preserves their prison exchange-poems and Zhào’s 1555 Yáng lièfù cí commemorating Yáng’s wife’s suicide. CBDB 207168 has a fl. 1559 marker; full lifedates are unresolved but Wáng Sānxī’s preface dates Zhào still living past 80 sui.
