Zhào Shèn 趙昚 (1127–1194)

Eleventh emperor of the Sòng 宋 dynasty and second of the Southern Sòng, posthumously Xiàozōng 孝宗 (r. 1162–1189). A devout patron of Buddhism with strong Chán affinities. Author of the Sānjiào lùn 三教論 (preserved in the Fózǔ tǒngjì 佛祖統紀, T49 no. 2035, juan 47) and of the imperially annotated Yùzhù Yuánjué jīng (KR6i0562, 1183), bestowed on the Jìngshān 徑山 master 寶印 Bǎoyìn (1109–1190).
