Zhào Xióngzhào 趙熊詔 (1663–1721), Hóuchì 侯赤, hào Qiú’è 裘萼. Native of Wǔjìn 武進 (Chángzhōu, Jiāngsū). Zhuàngyuán (top-ranked jìnshì) of Kāngxī 48 (1709). Hànlín xiūzhuàn 修撰 then shìdú 侍讀; his father was the senior official Zhào Shēnqiáo 趙申喬, Hùbù shàngshū 戶部尚書. The early Yōngzhèng-period investigation of the 1709 examination irregularities — in which it was alleged that Dài Mínhéng 戴名衡 (the actual high-scoring graduate) had been displaced in favour of Zhào by the action of Zhào’s father — temporarily compromised his standing, but he was not formally degraded. Listed in KR2j0002 Yùdìng yuèlìng jíyào as a jiào kān guān 校勘官 on the strength of his then position as rìjiǎngguān qǐjūzhù Hànlínyuàn shìdú 日講官起居注翰林院侍讀. He worked on numerous late-Kāngxī imperial compilations.
