Biàn-zhì 遍智 (Skt. Sarvajña “All-Knowing”; fl. c. 750–780) — Indian-Brahman monk attached to Amoghavajra’s programme at Dà-xìng-shàn-sì in Cháng-ān. The colophon of KR6j0432 (T1205) names him as 「天竺國婆羅門僧遍智奉詔集」 — “the Indian Brahman monk Biàn-zhì compiles by imperial decree” — in collaboration with Amoghavajra (大興善寺三藏沙門大廣智不空) on the Shèng-jūn Acala 48-Servitors manual.
He is one of several lesser-known Indian collaborators of Amoghavajra, attested only in colophon-records and not in the major biographical compilations. The pairing of an Indian compiler with Amoghavajra in the colophon of T1205 is unusual and suggests that Biànzhì furnished the Sanskrit-source material for the 48-servitors enumeration, while Amoghavajra approved and edited the Chinese rendering. His role is described as 集 (compilation) rather than 譯 (translation), pointing to a synthetic, anthological role rather than a direct translation of a discrete Indian Vorlage.
The Sanskrit-name Sarvajña is conjectural: 遍 = sarva “all”, 智 = jña “knowing”; but other reconstructions are possible (e.g., Vibudha “wise-throughout”). No corroborating Sanskrit or Tibetan documentation has been adduced.
