Hán Shàng Méngrén 邗上蒙人 (“the Deluded/Ignorant Person of the Han River shore”) is the pen name of the unidentified author of Fēngyuè Mèng 風月夢 (KR4k0112). “Hán Shàng” (邗上) is a literary name for Yángzhōu 揚州 in Jiāngsū province, recalling the ancient state of Hán/Yú 邘. The preface of Fēngyuè Mèng (1848) is the sole source for any biographical information, describing a Yangzhou-area man who spent over three years frequenting the entertainment quarters. His true identity has not been established.
