Guō Jiànchén 郭諫臣 (1524–1580), Zǐzhōng 子忠, hào Kūnmíng 鯤溟, of Chángzhōu 長洲 (Sūzhōu, Jiāngsū). Took the jìnshì in Jiājìng 41 (1562); office reached Jiāngxī cānzhèng. As Yuánzhōu tuīguān in 1564, he secretly compiled the dossier on Yán Shìfán — transmitted via Yùshǐ Lín Rùn 林潤 in the impeachment that led to Yán Shìfán’s execution in 1565, one of the principal events ending the Yán Sōng dictatorship. As Lìbù zhǔshì and later yuánwài láng, he memorialized repeatedly against contemporary policies; offended Zhāng Jūzhèng, was sent out to Jiāngxī, self-impeached, and returned home. His Kūnmíng shījí KR4e0212 — prefaced by Wáng Shìzhēn despite their belonging to different literary schools — preserves 671 poems plus 2 memorials. CBDB 34727.
