Zōu Shù 鄒澍 (1790–1844), zì Rùn’ān 潤安 (also written 閏庵), hào Shùzhāi 恕齋. Native of Wǔjìn 武進 (Chángzhōu, Jiāngsū) — central figure of the Chángzhōu jīngfāng / pharmacology circle of the first half of the 19th century. Lifelong private scholar-physician; never held office. His magnum opus is the Běnjīng shū zhèng 本經疏證 (KR3ec066, 12 juan, printed 1837) — a substance-by-substance critical exegesis of the Shénnóng běncǎo jīng read systematically against Zhāng Zhòngjǐng’s ShānghánJīnguì formula usage. It is the most influential 19th-century Chinese pharmacology and remains a standard jīngfāng reference. He also wrote the Běnjīng xù shū 本經續疏 (6 juan, supplementary cases) and Běnjīng shū zhèng yī cí 本經疏證遺辭. Friend and preface-writer for Yáng Shítài’s 楊時泰 Běncǎo shù gōuyuán (KR3ec052). CBDB 79038 confirms the dates 1790–1844.
