Zhèng Guāngzǔ 鄭光祖 (fl. late 13th–early 14th century; CBDB id 477558), Déhuī 德輝. A native of Píngyáng 平陽 (modern Linfén 臨汾, Shānxī). He served as a low-ranking government clerk ( 吏) in Hángzhōu 杭州, placing him in the southern orbit of Yuan drama, somewhat distinct from the northern Beijing-centered tradition of Guān Hànqīng 關漢卿. He is traditionally counted among the “Four Great Yuan Playwrights” (Yuán qū sì dà jiā 元曲四大家) alongside Guān Hànqīng 關漢卿, Bái Pǔ 白樸, and Mǎ Zhìyuǎn 馬致遠.

About sixteen plays are attributed to him; eight survive. His most celebrated work is Qiànnǚ Líhún 倩女離魂 (KR4k0038), adapted from the Tang chuánqí tale Lí hún jì 離魂記. His plays tend toward the romantic (lìqíng 麗情) mode rather than the judicial-case mode. He also composed sǎnqǔ 散曲 verse of note.

CBDB id 477558 carries the name without firm dates. Note: CBDB id 83773 and 111907 are other persons named 鄭光祖 of the Qing dynasty and undated, respectively; the Yuan playwright is id 477558.
