Late Northern-Sòng grand councilor and ritual director under Huīzōng; native of Kāifēng. Dáfū 達夫; posthumous name Wénzhèng 文正. Took the jìnshì in Yuánfēng 8 (1085); rose through Huīzōng’s court to Zhī Shūmìyuàn and ultimately Senior Grand Secretary, serving in alternation with the Cài Jīng 蔡京 faction. Compiler-in-chief (under imperial commission) of the Zhènghé wǔlǐ xīnyí 政和五禮新儀 (KR2m0023) of 1111–1113, the only surviving complete Northern-Sòng imperial ritual code. He played a politically sensitive role in the diplomatic crisis with the Jīn in 1122–23, dying just before the Jìngkāng fall. CBDB confirms 1059–1123.
