Zhōng Shǐshēng 鍾始聲

Lay name of Ǒuyì Zhìxù 蕅益智旭 (1599–1655), under which he published works directed at non-monastic audiences — particularly the Pì xié jí 闢邪集 KR6q0190, his 1640s anti-Christian polemic.

The full self-designation sometimes includes zì Zhènzhī 振之 (“Zhōng Zhènzhī”), zì Jìmíng 際明 (“Zhōng Jìmíng”), or the original name Zhōng Dàlǎng 鍾大朗 (“Zhōng Dàlǎng”; cf. also 大朗). See 智旭 for full biographical details.
