Āgé Zhǔrén 阿閣主人 (“Master of the Pavilion”) is the pen name of the editor and publisher of Méilán Jiāhuà 梅蘭佳話 (KR4k0181). According to the preface, Āgé Zhǔrén was a close friend of the actual author, Cáo Wúgāng 曹梧岡, and arranged posthumous publication of the novel after Cáo’s death. No biographical details beyond this relationship are known. The real name concealed behind this biéhào 別號 has not been identified in standard Qīng bibliographies, nor in CBDB.
