Chén Yìngfāng 陳應芳 (b. 1545), zì Yuánzhèn 元振, of Tàizhōu Garrison 泰州衛, was a jìnshì of Wànlì 23 (1595) who rose to Bùzhèngsī cānzhèng 布政司參政 (Provincial Administration Vice-Commissioner) of Fújiàn. In retirement at his native Tàizhōu, he compiled the Jìngzhǐ jí (KR2k0069), a 4-juan documentary anthology on the hydraulic system of the Xiàhé watershed of northern Jiāngsū — the principal late-Míng monograph on the region.
