Chén Cháo 陳朝 (fl. early-Míng Hóngwǔ era), an early-Míng scholar of Yín 鄞 county (modern Níngbō 寧波), Zhèjiāng. Possibly the same person as Chén Cháofǔ 陳朝輔 found in some Míng-era sources — the catalog meta of KR4d0382 Sìmíng wénxiàn jí writes only 陳朝, which the Sìkù tíyào expands to 陳朝輔 in its prose. He was the co-compiler, with 鄭眞 Zhèng Zhēn, of the Yín-county literary anthology Sìmíng wénxiàn 四明文獻 — an early-Míng project of local recovery of Sòng literary materials from Yín, of which the surviving piece in the Sìkù is the 5-juàn recovery of 王應麟 Wáng Yīnglín’s prose, catalogued as KR4d0382. The CBDB contains four candidates of this name (457265, 493706, 506362, 507254), all without confident lifedates or location; no confident identification of “Chén Cháo of Yín” is possible from the present CBDB data alone, so no CBDB id is recorded here. The reference is therefore flagged as uncertain; the identification with 陳朝輔 is reported in the Sìkù tíyào but is not independently established. Compiled work in the Kanripo corpus as co-compiler: KR4d0382 Sìmíng wénxiàn jí.
