Mǎ Guāngzǔ 馬光祖 (fl. 1196 suǒjǔ / floruit through ca. 1270), zì Huáfǔ 華父, hào Yùzhāi 裕齋, native of Jīnhuá 金華 (modern Zhèjiāng); enfeoffed Jīnhuájùn kāiguógōng 金華郡開國公 with food allowances of 3,000 households. Jìnshì of Bǎoqìng 2 (1226). His career, as recovered from CBDB, includes: 1258 in office as Húguǎng zǒnglǐng 湖廣總領; 1261 appointed Tóngzhī Shūmìyuàn shì 同知樞密院事 (Vice State Councillor for Military Affairs); 1263 from that office moved to a temple sinecure; 1267 appointed Cānzhī zhèngshì 參知政事 (Vice Grand Councillor); 1269 concurrently Zhī Shūmìyuàn shì 知樞密院事, and in the same year retired to a temple sinecure. Across his career he served four times as Jiāngdōng ānfǔshǐ and prefect of Jiànkāng (Bǎoyòu 5 / 1257; revisits in Bǎoyòu 6 = 1258 and Jǐngdìng 1 = 1260, then again as Yánjiāng zhìzhì dàshǐ in 1261); the second tenure produced both his vigorous defense of the prefecture against Mongol pressure and his commission of Zhōu Yìnghé’s Jǐngdìng Jiànkāng zhì (KR2k0021).
