Mǎ Yúncóng 馬雲從 ( Yúncóng 雲從; fl. late Kāngxī, c. 1660–1700), Qīng-period physician of Wéixī 濰西 (modern Wéifāng 濰坊, Shāndōng). According to the prefaces preserved in KR3em004 Yǎnkē mìjué 眼科秘訣, Mǎ was originally a candidate in the Qīng examination system who had to abandon his examination career because of severe eye disease. He received the manuscript that became Yǎnkē mìjué (claiming Sūn Sīmiǎo / 孫思邈 descent) from the itinerant Jiāngnán physician Wáng Fùwàn 王覆萬 — whose source was named as the otherwise unattested Dàpiáo qīméi xiānshēng 大瓢七眉先生 — and cured himself with it before practising professionally. He was unable to fund the work’s printing, which was eventually arranged by his patron 隋平 Suí Píng 隋平 (hào Kūntiě 昆鐵) of Dōngwǔ, with a prefatory commendation by his contemporary 李煥章 Lǐ Huànzhāng 李煥章 (1614–). Mǎ Yúncóng is also the redactor of the companion volume KR3em008 Yǎnkē chǎnwēi 眼科闡微. CBDB c_personid 472106 (dynasty code 20 = 清, no recorded lifedates).
