Northern-Sòng recluse-poet, zì Zhòngxiān 仲先, hào Cǎotáng jūshì 草堂居士, of Shǎnzhōu 陜州 (his ancestors were Shǔ men resettled in Hénán). Refused all summons to office under Sòng Zhēnzōng. Died Tiānxǐ 3 / 1019 age 60; posthumous Mìshūshěng zhùzuòláng. Together with Lín Bū 林逋 the canonical pair of early-Northern-Sòng recluse-poets — but with greater contemporary court fame than Lín (the famous Liáo envoy anecdote of Dàzhōngxiángfú records the Khitan court asking the Sòng for the second half of his Cǎotáng jí). Original Cǎotáng jí 草堂集 in 10 juǎn, expanded posthumously by his son Wèi Xián 魏閑 into the Dōngguān jí KR4d0019 (the title taken from his posthumous Mìshūshěng office, the Dōngguān) with preface by Xuē Tián 薛田 in 1023.
