Yú Shènxíng 于慎行 (1545–1607), Kěyuǎn 可遠 / Wúgòu 無垢, hào Gǔchéng shānrén 穀城山人, posthumous shì Wéndìng 文定, of Dōng’ē 東阿 (Shāndōng). Took the jìnshì in Lóngqìng 2 (1568); rose to Lǐbù shàngshū and Wǔyīngdiàn dàxuéshì (Cabinet Grand Secretary). He is the author of the Dúshǐ mànlù 讀史漫錄 (separately Sìkù-recorded) and the literary collection Gǔchéng shānguǎn shījí KR4e0219. Though geographically a compatriot of Lǐ Pānlóng of Lìchéng (Shāndōng), he explicitly rejected the Hòu Qī Zǐ archaist program — his statements on gǔ yuèfǔ and wǔyán gǔshī in the collection are among the most articulate late-Wàn-lì anti-archaist critical positions. He also rejected the Jìnglíng and Gōngān counter-movements, preferring the diǎnyǎ hépíng (canonical-elegant, harmonious-peaceful) Mid-Táng register. CBDB 126359.
