Hé Yīng 何英 (fl. late Qiánlóng – early Jiāqìng era, ca. 1780–1820), late-Qīng compiler of the Wéntáng jíyàn fāng 文堂集驗方 (KR3ed119) in 4 juǎn — a popular clinical formulary in the charity-pharmacy / merit-publication tradition, organised by syndrome with brief theoretical introductions before each formula-group. The Wéntáng 文堂 (“Literary Hall”) is presumably the compiler’s studio-name, but no further biographical detail is securely identifiable. The work’s fánlì indicates that Hé was felled by serious illness during compilation, leaving the manuscript imperfectly proofed; he positioned the work as a freely-distributable merit-pharmacy text.
