Lái Bǎo 來保 (1681–1764), Manchu official of the Hitara 喜塔臘 clan, of the Plain Yellow Banner. Long career running from late Kāngxī through high Qiánlóng. Held in succession the offices of Imperial Household Department superintendent (內務府總管), Minister of War, Minister of Personnel, Grand Councillor (議政大臣), Lecturer at the Imperial Lectures (經筵講官), and finally Grand Secretary of the Wǔyīng diàn 武英殿大學士. Tutor to the imperial heir (太子太傅). Author of the zǒngcái-line memorial of presentation of the Qīndìng pīngdìng Jīnchuān fānglüè 欽定平定金川方略 (KR2c0011) — the official campaign history of the First Jīnchuān war of 1747–1749 — submitted to Qiánlóng in the 6th month of Qiánlóng 17 (1752). One of the principal Manchu administrative figures of the mid-Qiánlóng era. CBDB carries him at personid 59231 (under the Manchu form 喜塔臘來保) with dates 1681–1764, followed here.
