Ní Fù 倪復, Rǔxīn 汝新, of Sìmíng 四明 (Níngbō 寧波, modern Zhèjiāng). Mid-Míng music-theorist, fl. Jiājìng era. The principal evidence for his life is the preface that his fellow-prefectural Zhāng Bāngqí 張邦奇 wrote in winter Jiājìng 5 (1526) for his Zhōnglǜ tōngkǎo 鐘律通考 (KR1i0008) — completed in autumn of the same year. Zhāng’s preface notes that Ní had given his life to a deep study of music classics and of Cài Yuándìng’s Lǜlǚ xīnshū, but had been long unable to obtain office. Beyond the Zhōnglǜ tōngkǎo he is otherwise obscure.

CBDB id 255664 records him under dynasty 明 with index year 1405 — too early to be reconciled with the Zhōnglǜ tōngkǎo’s 1526 completion; the index-year is unreliable, likely an inference from an unrelated 倪復 in the Mǐng prefectural records. The conventional flourishing-period 1500–1530 should be preferred.
