Chǔ Dàwén 儲大文 (1665–1743), Liùyǎ 六雅, hào Huàshān 畫山, native of Yíxīng 宜興 (ChángZhōu prefecture, Jiāngsū). Jìnshì of Kāngxī 60 (1721), at the relatively advanced age of 57; entered the Hanlin and rose to shùjíshì 庶吉士. He is one of the most accomplished historical-geographers of the early eighteenth century, recognised as such by the Sìkù tíyào of KR2k0049 (where the editors note his particular versatility in dìlǐ zhī xué 地理之學). His own Cún yánlóu jí 存研樓集 (24 juan) collects his geographical and historical scholarship and was itself given a Sìkù entry. As principal biānzuǎn of the Yōngzhèng-era Shānxī tōngzhì (KR2k0049), he wrote the work’s fánlì (general guidelines) and is identified by the Sìkù editors as the hand whose geographical training produced the work’s distinctive shānchuān xíngshì sections.
