Wù’ān Pǔníng 兀庵普寧
Southern Sòng Línjì-school Chan master who emigrated to Japan in 1260 at the invitation of Hōjō Tokiyori 北條時頼 and served as the second abbot of Kenchō-ji 建長寺 in Kamakura after 道隆 Lánxī Dàolóng. Returned to China in 1265 and died at Tiāntóngshān 天童山 in 1276. Founder of the Gottan-ha 兀庵派 lineage of Japanese Rinzai Zen.
