Liú Xūn 劉壎 (1240–1319), zì Qǐqián 起潛, hào Shuǐyúncūn 水雲村 (“Water-and-Cloud Village,” after his residence), native of Nánfēng 南豐 (Jiāngxī). Sòng Xiánchún gēngwǔ (1270) běnjùnshì (prefectural examination) first place at age 30. After the Sòng’s fall in 1276 he entered Yuán service by recommendation as Yánpíng jiàoshòu 延平教授 (modern Fújiàn). Died in Yányòu 6 (1319) at age 80. Particularly renowned as a master of piánlì sìliù (parallel four-six prose); his self-evaluation (preserved in his Yǐnjū tōngyì) singles out the now-lost surrogate-pieces for Wú Jùnfǔ 吳濬 and Zhào Bìjié 趙必岊 as his finest work. Author of the Yǐnjū tōngyì KR3j0136 (an important Yuán bǐjì) and the Shuǐyúncūn gǎo KR4d0437 (his literary collection). CBDB person 35354.
