Liú Ruòjīn 劉若金 (hào Yúnmì 雲密, 1584–1665), late-Míng / early-Qīng physician. Author of the Běncǎo shù 本草述 (30 juǎn, completed in 1664), an ambitious pharmacopoeia attempting to integrate the qìwèishēngjiàng 氣味升降 doctrine of the Jīn-Yuán four masters with the Běnjīng substance corpus. The work’s prose was famously verbose (“文辭蔓衍，讀者幾莫測其所歸”) and it circulated only patchily; it was rescued from obscurity by 楊時泰’s critical condensation, the Běncǎo shù gōuyuán 本草述鉤元 (KR3ec052, printed posthumously 1842).
