Tang dynasty writer, known primarily as the author of 《稽瑞》 (KR3h0104), a compendium of auspicious omens. He styled himself 嵩白雲子 (White Cloud Child of Song Mountain), identifying with 嵩山 (Song Mountain) in Henan, near the Tang eastern capital Luoyang. His use of the title 文部尚書 for the Minister of Personnel in his self-preface to 《稽瑞》 dates his active career to the period 742–758 CE, when Tang Xuanzong renamed the Six Ministries (吏部 being temporarily called 文部). No biographical entry has been located in CBDB or the Jiu Tang shu 舊唐書 / Xin Tang shu 新唐書. The 《稽瑞》 was cited by 王應麟 in his 《玉海》 (13th century), demonstrating the work’s survival through the Song.
